Sports employment

This page outlines the council's policy on training and employment within the Sports and Leisure service.

Ribble Valley Borough Council employs a number of staff throughout our Sports and Leisure Centres as well as the Healthy Lifestyle team and the Sports Development Team. Vacancies are usually advertised in the local media and also appear on the Job Vacancies pages of the Council's Website.

The range of opportunities goes from Sports Development Officers, Health & Fitness Development Officers, Duty Officers, Leisure Assistants, Receptionists and Cleaners, through to coaching/instructor staff, Swimming Teachers, Aerobic Teachers, Spinning Instructors. Often we look to employ those students who have attended one of our coaching courses as an instructor in one or more of our facilities.

For those wishing to train as a teacher/coach in a particular sport we are able to offer advice about the opportunities available and perhaps even where funding may be sought.
