Advocacy for carers
Service outline:
Advocacy enables people to protect their rights and speak up. An advocate is a person who can:
- listen
- help to plan any action
- write letters and make telephone calls
- ensure views are heard at meetings or interviews
- obtain information
- investigate alternative sources of support
- increase communication with social care services and any other relevant agencies
- find out what rights you have
- liaise with relevant agencies
