Grass cutting and grounds maintenance

Service outline:

The Council cuts grass to ensure that people can use roads and pavements safely, and also to ensure a safe and attractive environment.

The Council is responsible for the cutting of grass on areas such as:

  • parks
  • town centres
  • memorial gardens
  • verges
  • public open spaces

The council is not responsible for cutting grass on:

  • private property
  • on properties/estates owned by bodies other than the Council

The council cuts the grass throughout the summer months. If you notice any overgrown areas of grass please report these to the council using the contact details below.

Please note some grass verges are maintained by Lancashire County Council for ourselves, if this is the case we will advise you off the correct contact details when you contact us.
