Ribble Valley Borough Council

Planning - business and farms

Service outline:

Commercial properties have no permitted development rights and therefore most works to them will require planning permission. Farms do have some permitted development rights, but it is always advisable to contact us before carrying out any work.

"Planning permission A Guide for Business" produced by The Department of Environment, Transport and Regions is available online and from Level D reception at the Council Offices. It gives a simple overview of how planning law relates to business.

"A Farmer's Guide to the Planning System" and "Farm Diversification in the North West: A Guide to Planning" are both available online and from Level D reception at the Council Offices.

Further information is available from the planning section
