Ribble Valley Borough Council

Implementing electronic government

Service outline:

Ribble Valley Borough Council sees implementing electronic service delivery (ESD) as an integral part of our modernisation agenda. This is transforming the Council into a flexible customer focused organisation, which puts the citizen at the centre of its policies and plans. Strategies have been put in place which will guide our approach to e-Government.

In meeting this target, every effort will be made to ensure that all sectors of the community benefit, whether businesses, individuals or visitors. We will work with partner organisations within Ribble Valley to achieve this goal.

More information on e-Government is available from the Communities and Local Government website.
The Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) website also hosts background information on electronic government.

Whilst the Authority is taking major steps in the world of new technology, it is also acutely aware that not all its residents have access to the Internet. The Council is looking at different ways of increasing the number of Internet access points for the community.

The Council is also keen to stress that Internet delivery is in addition to the normal services available today where the public can make enquiries via phone, in writing or in person.
