Traffic calming - home zones

Home Zones are part of a Central Government challenge to participate in an initiative whereby residential streets are reclaimed for the use of residents.

Home Zones are specially designated areas where vehicles and people share the same space. Special design features are put in place to facilitate this, the idea being that the street or road becomes a 'community' space where people walk/cycle/relax/play and where vehicle speeds would be very low.
