Volunteering can prove to be valuable work experience for people, and offers the opportunity to work in local communities and with vulnerable members of society.
Countryside Volunteering
Volunteer Rangers form an integral part of the Lancashire Countryside Service. Work is available in a wide variety of locations from urban fringe nature reserves, country parks to patrolling upland moorland access areas, with opportunities to become involved in Information Centres, environmental education and access for all as well as some nature conservation tasks. Training is provided for volunteers in all aspects of work.

Our Sports department can provide information and advice on volunteering opportunities, including how to get involved in the 2012 Olympics.
