Platform Gallery Winter Exhibitions
Two exhibitions to brighten up and cheer this wintertide!
Small Worlds
This exhibition takes delight in all things minute and miniature. Marvel at the skill of craftspeople who create their own tiny worlds from metal, wood, textiles and ceramics. From teeny automata to flying fairies and magical paper worlds, this exhibition will amaze and delight viewers of all ages!
Winter Worlds
The annual selection of handcrafted gifts has become famous throughout the north of England. Each year, the best of contemporary craft is handpicked from across the UK, and offers a unique selection of gorgeous jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glass and small scale gifts to delight the eye and the pocket. This year, the focus is on gifts with a really wintery feel, from icy chandelier jewellery by Corrinne Evans, to cosy sheepskin accessories by Miss Foxglove. For a humorous touch, why not try a sprout wreath by Wigan's Sew Sew Crafty, or cute printed stationery by Blackburn's Owl & Cat designs? All in all, over a hundred artists will be taking part, many from Lancashire and the north of England, so don't miss out on this feast of new ideas for the festive season.
Both exhibitions run until 12noon on Saturday 24 December.
Open Tues-Sat 10am-4.30pm
Sundays in December (not 26) 11am-4pm
