The Art and Craft Guild of Lancashire, formerly the Craft Guild of West Lancashire, was formed by a group of artists and designer-makers in 1986. Their idea was to join together to promote their work and make a living from their skills. Now in our 21st year, the Guild continues as a co-operative organisation with a growing membership.
The Guild chooses their members for special qualities of originality and excellence in their work and designs, which are showcased several times a year in shows and exhibitions. The membership covers a wide variety of talents including, art, photography, textile arts, turned and whittled wood, fine jewellery, ceramics, and glass. Many of the members exhibit throughout Great Britain and abroad, some having their own workshops that the public can visit and purchase unique items. Other members display and sell their work in galleries and craftshops. Many members undertake commissions, ensuring the client a one of a kind design to be enjoyed for a lifetime or given as a gift for a special occasion. Several members also give talks and run workshops.
Information concerning the Guild and its members can be found in our brochure or on our website http://www.artandcraftguild.co.uk/.
