Building control
Building regulations are national standards applicable in England and Wales which apply to almost all new buildings, extensions and alterations to buildings whether in the home or a commercial development. They ensure that the environment in which we all live is a safe and healthy place.
National regulations cover such matters as structural stability, fire safety, resistance to moisture, sound insulation, ventilation, conservation of fuel and power, drainage, stairways, access to buildings, electrical safety in dwellings, heat producing appliances and safety glazing.
