Protected Trees
If your tree is protected:
- Your tree/s may be protected by being included in a Tree Preservation Order or conservation area.
- You must contact the planning department in order to establish the status of your trees.
- Do not implement any tree work to protected trees without prior written consent.
- Any tree work proposals must be submitted using the standard application form
- All tree work proposals must comply with BS3998 for tree work.
- The Councils Arboricultural Officer will assess the proposals against current arboricultural criteria.
- You do not have an automatic right to consent for tree work.
Any tree surgery/pruning proposals should have the objective of making tree/s growing in the public domain safer and/or to alleviate actionable nuisance as well as removing or reducing the impact of inherent growth defects.
