Tree work is dangerous

Only those people trained and equipped to work in tree work should ever attempt to carry out work on trees which are in close proximity to overhead power lines. You should always employ a tree contractor who then should notify the local electricity board - people's lives may depend on the action. e.g. A tree surgeon was electrocuted while topping a leyland cypress tree in a private garden. The tree was within two metres of an 11,000 volt overhead power cable and the power had not been disconnected while the work was being carried out
