Definitive Maps
Where can I view the Definitive Maps?
Copies of the Definitive Map & Statement are available for viewing by the public at a variety of locations throughout Lancashire:
- Lancashire County Council online maps MARIO (Maps and Related Information Online)
- Lancashire County Council Countryside Service - The actual Definitive Map
- District Councils - e.g. Ribble Valley Borough Council. Copy of the Definitive Map covering their district area.
- Also some Parish Councils and libraries will have copies.
No charge will be made to view the map and it will be made available any member of the public on request during Office hours, although it is always helpful to call in advance and make an appointment with the relevant person.
Ordnance Survey maps at 1:25000 (Explorer - Orange & Pathfinder - Yellow) and 1:50000 (Landranger - Pink) show rights of way information derived from the Definitive Map.
The information shown on these maps will not show any changes to the network made after they were published. Refer to the key on your map to see the classification of the Rights of Way.
