Trees In Conservation Areas

What Restrictions Apply?

A conservation area is a designated area in which trees with three inch plus diameter trunk not included in a TPO are protected.

Can a Tree in an Conservation Area be Pruned or Felled?
Yes - if it is justifiable, and in which case you will be given written permission.

Are Trees in Conservation Areas Given the same Legal status as trees protected by TPO's?
Not quite.  If you wish to have a tree or trees felled or pruned, you must give the Local Authority six weeks notice.  You will either be given permission or a TPO will be served giving the tree or trees complete protection.
