Exercise Referral Scheme

The exercise referral scheme in the Ribble Valley is called "Fitness For Life" and is designed for people who are currently inactive or suffering from a specific medical problem.


Residents of the Ribble Valley can be referred onto the scheme by their GP, Practice Nurse, Physiotherapist or Community Psychiatric Nurse if they feel the individual would benefit from regular exercise or physical activity.


The "Fitness For Life" scheme involves taking part in a 12-week exercise or physical activity programme designed specifically a persons individual needs and circumstances.  Activities that are available to people on the scheme are, Gym Sessions, Aqua Tone, Swimming, Tai Chi and Healthy Lifestyles Circuit classes.
