Annual Budget Books

All of us need to plan our spending and judge it against our income. Ribble Valley Borough Council is no different. As the council is responsible for many vital services, it has to have a formal Budget Book which shows where the Council plans to spend its money and collect its income.

When the council sets the original budget for the coming year, it also reviews the current year's original budget and sets a revised estimate for the current year.

The Council's service managers are required to identify areas of growth and savings as part of their Service Plans. Any identified growth or savings then require approval by the Budget Working Group, Management Team, Service Committees, Policy and Finance and finally by Full Council. Along this process growth or savings may be deleted or approved in to the council's budget.
