Casual Vacancy for the Salthill Ward of Clitheroe

Residents of the Salthill ward of Clitheroe are advised that a casual vacancy has arisen for their ward on Ribble Valley Borough Council.

The vacancy has arisen following the failure by Councillor Simon Paul Farnsworth to attend any meetings of the Council for a period of six consecutive months

When a councillor stands down within six months of local elections, a by-election is not held, unless the total number of unfilled vacancies on the council exceeds one-third.

As local elections are scheduled to take place on May 5 2011 and given that the total number of unfilled vacancies on the council does not exceed one-third, a by-election will therefore not be held for the Salthill ward.

Residents of the Salthill ward requiring councillor support are asked to contact Councillor David Berryman (Salthill) or any other Ribble Valley councillor.
