Ribble Valley Locality Plan
The Ribble Valley Locality Plan for 2010/11 was approved by Policy and Finance Committee in June 2010 and has been endorsed by Lancashire County Council's Deputy Leader in July 2010. It will be fully approved by Lancashire County Council's Cabinet in September 2010. Approval includes a commitment to monitor the Plan by each respective authority on an ongoing basis along with a joint review after six months.
The 2010/11 Locality Plan lists thirteen priorities for the Ribble Valley:

Priority: Promote and develop civic pride and local democracy

Priority: Improve community engagement

Priority: Improve access to services

Priority: Actively explore opportunities to tap into 'social capital', volunteering and local lobbying

Priority: Improve street cleanliness

Priority: Winter maintenance

Priority: Develop allotment space

Priority: Improve the environment and local sustainability

Priority: Improve and expand culture, arts and leisure opportunities

Priority: Develop Town Centre Plans for Longridge and Whalley

Priority: Explore what we do as local employers in terms of work experience, apprenticeships etc
The Plan outlines a total of 24 commitments and interventions under these headings, which both Councils will deliver together or in their own right. Delivery is through existing business planning and performance management systems.
