Local Code of Corporate Governance
The Council has adopted the code of corporate governance set out in the CIPFA/SOLACE document "A Keystone for Community Governance."
Corporate Governance is the system by which local authorities direct and control their functions and relate to their communities.
This Council is committed to the highest standards of good governance.
The code is based on the underlying principles for:
- openness and inclusivity
- integrity
- accountability
and covers the five dimensions of:
- community focus
- service delivery arrangements
- structures and processes
- risk management and internal control
- standards of conduct
