Pop Up Winter Art and Craft Stalls

Each week in December brings a selection of 4 new Pop Up Art and Craft stalls at the Platform Gallery and Visitor Information Centre, Clitheroe. The public can chat with the selected artists and designer-makers, buy or commission artwork directly from them, see them at work in demonstrations. Celebrating and supporting the excellence and diversity of local artists and designer makers.

12 artists and makers have been selected to exhibit their work in the weeklong displays in the Education Gallery in December. The people selected are as stated below.

2 - 7 December, Week 1

Julia Swarbrick - Painting and printmaking

Etchings, lithographs, relief prints, small paintings in oil and acrylic and handmade cards, from £2.99 - £250.

Philippe Handford - Driftwood and recycled materials

Christmas trees, ornaments and candleholders, from £25 - £150.

Louise Taylor - Textiles

Romantic floral printed designs taken from original artworks, delicate watercolour paintings and intricate drawings adorned on different sized silk scarves, cushions, greetings cards, pocket mirrors, decorations and accessories, from £5 - £90.

Gill Kirk - Print, mixed media and textiles

High quality giclee prints and originals in glassed frames, textile hand printed and designed cushions, echoing 2d pieces, from £25 - £150.

9 - 14 December, Week 2

Julie Miles - Ceramics

Sculptural and functional porcelain and stoneware, from £10 - £150.

Anita Burrows- Relief and intaglio prints, handmade books, portfolios, paper and handprinted cards

Original printwork inspired by local landscape around Pendle. Open spine books using locally sourced materials, from £2.50 - £150.

Christine Barber - Cute n Crafti-  Bespoke handcrafted gifts

Soft Furnishings and gifts from, £5 - £75.

Priscilla Jones - Textiles

Mixed media 2d and 3d textiles using found materials and ephemera, from £4 - £185.

16 - 21 December, Week 3

Janet Browne - Textiles

Hand dyed and stitched maps and related landscape work. Framed and unframed 3D birds and animals, hand made cards, printed greeting cards and postcards. The work is in an intricate folk art style and is based on the northern landscape, and includes gardens, allotments and favourite seaside places, from 50p - £500

Mark Mason - Woodblock prints

Hand printed images from his own hand carved woodblocks, from £8- £25.

Samantha Taylor - Jewellery

Contemporary sculptural wirework jewellery with beads, vintage buttons and unique pieces of fused glass, from £12 - £75.

John Rotherham - Animal Pastel - Soft pastel paintings

Bespoke, contemporary, original artwork and animal portraits, from £375 - £900.
