Sports and Community Awards

The Ribble Valley Sports and Community Awards are held every year in order to recognise and reward people who have made a significant impact on sport, art and recreation in the Ribble Valley both through performance as well as through volunteering.

The Ribble Valley Sports Awards feed into the county awards which are held annually through Lancashire Sport - all borough winners go forward to the Lancashire Sports Awards (except for the Community Engagement Award)

In order for the Sports Awards section of the evening to be a success we very much rely on YOU, we require clubs, coaches, players, parents, schoolteachers, friends etc to nominate someone who you feel deserves to be recognised for their efforts in sport. The awards are as follows ;

Community Club of the Year
Sports Coach of the Year
Sports Rising Star (Under 21's)
Adult Sports Volunteer of the Year
Young Sports Volunteer of the Year (16-24 year olds)
Lifetime Sports Achievement Award - in memory of Marjorie Partridge
Community Engagement Award (awarded by the Ribble Valley Community Safety Partnership)
School of the Year Award The 2012 awards were held on Friday 27th July at The Grand, Clitheroe - here is a list of the winners and runners-up:

2012 Lancashire Sports Awards
Congratulations to both Dean Sumner (Clitheroe Dolphins) and Bethany Tomlinson (Ribble Valley Netball Club) on winning their respective awards at the Lancashire Sports Awards on Friday 28th September. Also well done to Longridge High School on being 'Highly Commended' in the School of the Year category.
