How to make a Payment online
You can pay your Council Tax, Business Rates (NNDR), Council House Rents, Garage Rents or General Debts (where you have a sundry debtor account number from an invoice) over the internet.
To make an online payment you need a valid credit or debit card and an account reference.
Please read the guidance notes on account references and card types before proceeding.
Business Rates :- Enter your Business Rates account number which appears on your bill as a 7 digit reference starting with a 5 or 6.
Council Tax :- Enter your Council Tax account number which appears on your bill as an 8 digit reference which starts with a 1. If your number ends in an X, please enter the X in upper case (capital X).
Council House Rents or Garage Rents :- Enter your Rent account number which appears on your rent card as an 8 digit reference which starts with an 8 or 9.
Sundry Debtors :- Enter your Sundry Debtor account number which appears on your invoice as a 10 character reference number which starts with "sdebt" followed by 5 digits. (The "sdebt" must be in lower case.)
Card Payments :- Where there is an issue number on your Switch card then the Issue Number and Expiry Date both need to be entered with the issue number as two digits, prefixed by 0 where necessary, and the Issue Date must be left blank. Where there is no issue number then the Issue Date and Expiry Date both need to be entered, with the Issue Number being left blank.
Visa Debit Card Payments :- Please use the Card Type "Delta" for Visa Debit cards.
Credit Cards :- Please note a 1.49% charge will be made for payments made via credit card.

We will receive your credit details using a secure server. This means the transaction is encrypted between your computer and the authority's internet server. If you wish to check the secure status of our server for yourself, please look for the yellow padlock on the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, if you double click this icon it will give you our Certificate Information. We use VeriSign Uk Ltd as a means to encrypt your transactions with the Council.
Traditional website addresses begin "http" - the address for a secure site will always begin with "https".
