The Current Mayor
The current Mayor is Councillor Simon Hore.
Councillor Hore has been ward councillor for Chipping since 2007 (including Bowland with Leagram and Higher Bowland Forest).
Councillor Hore has lived in Chipping for 23 years with his wife, Grace and daughter. Born in Sutton in Surrey, and the elder of identical twins, he was brought up in South London but lived and worked across the country. He has worked in the wine and spirit industry for over 35 years.
He currently works in Ribchester as a Director of Operations for a company designing and selling food and alcohol seasonal gifts to UK retailers.
Councillor Hore became a trustee of the new Chipping and District Memorial Hall committee in 1999 when it was opened, being the Treasurer for the first 5 years; and remaining as a trustee.
He was a church warden until 2010 at the Parish Church of St Bartholomew, Chipping retiring after 7 years. He enjoys bellringing, being Tower Captain in Chipping and has been involved in the Freemasonary charitable organisation for nearly 30 years both here in Lancashire and in Scotland.
