The Mayor's Duties

One of the Mayor's main duties is to Chair the meetings of Full Council. The Mayor also attends lots of functions both within the Borough and at other Borough Councils mainly in Lancashire.

These include church services, annual dinners, official openings of offices or new buildings, theatre productions, carol concerts, school prize givings, coffee mornings, garden parties, hosting visits from foreign exchange students, visiting people on their 100th birthdays, band concerts, and photocalls as First Citizen of the Borough Council promoting our own events.
