Equality Duty
Race Equality Scheme (May 2009)
The Race Relations Amendment Act 2000 (RRA) states that Local Authorities have a positive duty to promote race equality and eliminate racism.
To help us achieve this we have produced a Race Equality Scheme that fulfils this positive duty. It sets out the general and specific duties resulting from the RRA 2000 and summarises the Council's approach to implementing the act.
