Art in Clitheroe Castle Grounds

In the Castles past which dates back to the 12th century the area which is now known as the Atrium Cafe once housed the castles well. Unable to be exposed and displayed as a feature the restoration team felt there was a need to interpret and celebrate the sites past to future visitors. The artists Justine Cook and David Lewis were commissioned to create a floor based piece to give the public a hint of what is hidden under the floor beneath them. This was done by cutting a riddle into the flooring of the cafe, providing a word game in the form of a short poem.
