New Visitor Guide Flies Off The Shelves

Published Thursday 4th February 10

Ribble Valley Borough Council has published its popular annual tourist guide, which this year has a family-friendly theme.

The 2010 Ribble Valley Visitor Guide will be distributed to tourist information centres across the UK , as well as tourism exhibitions, including the prestigious Great Days Out at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton, and the Great Outdoors at the NEC, Birmingham .

The revamped and extended guide has a colourful new look, with the strapline "Ribble Valley: Once Visited, Never Forgotten," new photography and words, as well as information on events, places to stay, attractions, such as the new £3.5million Clitheroe Castle Museum Complex, and Ribble Valley's growing reputation as a "food borough."

Ribble Valley Borough Council's tourism information officer, Stephanie Hibbert, said: "We decided to give the guide a family-friendly feel and clearer accommodation ratings. Feedback from tourism colleagues and visitors has been excellent, and the guide is flying off the shelves."

The guide is available from the Tourist Information Centre at its new home in the Ribble Valley Borough Council Offices in Church Walk, Clitheroe, which is open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm. Copies are also available by phoning the centre on 01200 425566.
