Barrow Lands Planning Appeal

Published Monday 30th September 13

Ribble Valley Borough Council has decided not to defend an appeal by the Barrow Lands Company Ltd against its non-determination of plans to build 190 properties at land in Whalley Road, Barrow.

The council's planning and development committee has resolved not to defend the appeal after concerns raised by the Highways Authority were addressed.

Terry Hill, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council's planning and development committee, said: "If the plans were re-submitted in their modified state, they would almost certainly be recommended for approval.

"The principal objections to the original scheme have been resolved and committee is now minded not to defend the appeal."
