Jan 19 - March 8 Northern Potters at the Platform GallerySelected works by 27 members of the Northern Potters Association.  Jill Ford pictured. 

 

Plus Lancashire Arts and Crafts Initiative (LACi) showcases - jewellery, glass, ceramics and metalwork by 2007 graduates from the north of England: Kristin Bates, Beth Essex, Lucy Harvey, Isabelle Reaves, Mitchell Robinson, Sian Anwyl Williams.

New Beginnings
- a showcase of craftwork by students from St Mary's College, Blackburn, inspired by the Platform Gallery's 2007 exhibition 'Garment'.

Manipulate

Mixed exhibition based on artists who use intricate and repetitive means of fabrication in ceramic, textiles, metalwork and paper. Includes work by Sarah Brown, Min-ji Cho, Lisa Ellul, Nawal Gebreel , Karina Gill, Becky Harle, Stine Jespersen, Sarah Keay, Hannah Lobley, Jessica Preston, Clare Proctor, Katherine Wardropper, Clare Webster and others.

Ribble Valley Sculpture Trail,
Gateways into the Park - Halima Cassell

Work by Halima Cassell, the artist selected to create the six new gateway features for the Ribble Valley Sculpture Trail. Featuring Halima's current ceramic work alongside designs and maquettes for the new features.

Selection of ceramic works produced by Clitheroe based community groups working with Halima Cassell.

Northern Glass
A celebration of contemporary glass from the North of England. The exhibition will feature a wealth of glass techniques including blown, cast and architectural pieces.
Includes work by: The Glass Studio Denby, Gillies Jones, Jessamy Kelly, Charlie Macpherson, Joanne Mitchell, Amanda Notarianni, Kathryn Pearce, Sanders & Wallace, Jo Vincent, Louise Watson, Kathryn Wightman and others.

Community Rail Exhibition

A celebration of Ribble Valley Rail including contemporary and historical photography.

Bowland Festival Arts showcase

Work by selected craft makers based in and around the Forest of Bowland Bowland 

 

July 19 - September 6
People Watching

A Platform Gallery exhibition based on artists who observe the human condition - Helen Beard, Clair Louise Butler, Lucy Casson, Louise Gardiner, Rachael Howard, Laura McCafferty, Craig Mitchell, Sarah McDade, Lynn Muir, Guy Routledge, Liliane Taylor, Lynn Walters, Hannah Yeadon. Features work in textiles, metal, ceramic and mixed media.

 

September 13 - October 22 (ends Wednesday)
Lancashire and Yorkshire Textiles Open.

A wealth of textiles by professionals and amateurs from across the regions. Submissions are invited by post (digital images / photos and application form). Application forms will be available from the Platform Gallery from March 31 2008. Submission fee will apply.
