Planning appeals
This section will give you some information about the planning appeal system, but for further information please visit the Planning Inspectorate's website You have the right to appeal to the First Secretary of State if the planning authority has:
- refused planning permission
- imposed conditions you cannot or do not wish to accept
- failed to make a decision within eight weeks of receiving your application, or whatever extended period you have agreed with them
Only the applicant can appeal decisions, third parties can make their opinion known on your appeal but have no right of appeal against any decision to grant planning permission.
To make a valid appeal you must use the Planning Inspectorate's official form. These are available from:
