Bin Collection Days

Waste and recycling over the festive period

Arrangements for the collection of waste and recycling over the Christmas and New Year period.

Bins must be presented for collection by 7:30am (if it is more convenient you may put them out after 6:00pm the night before).

Please park considerately on collection day the refuse vehicle will require access to empty your bins.

The household waste and recycling centres in Clitheroe and Longridge will be closed 25 - 26 December 2020 and 1 January 2021.

Additional Blue Bin Collection

There will be an additional Blue bin collection on the week starting 28 December 2020 instead of a Green bin collection.

There will be three weeks of blue bin collections (21 December, 28 December, 4 January) before Green Bin collections are resumed on 11 January 2021.


Please recycle as much of your waste as possible.

Wrapping paper and Christmas cards can be recycled, please include them in your white sack. Please leave out all foiled wrapping paper and any paper/cards with glitter on, plastic pieces or any ribbons.

Remember you can recycle all your glass bottles and jars in your blue bin with your mixed plastics.

Christmas trees

You don't need to book a collection. Simply place your tree with your bins on your first green bin collection day from Monday 11 January 2021.

No lights, trimmings, plastic or metal bases please.
