Self-isolation Eases for Vaccinated Adults

From 16 August, if you are double-jabbed, you no longer need to self-isolate if you are identified as a close contact of someone with Covid-19, but you are urged to book a PCR test.

Young people and double-vaccinated individuals identified as close contacts are advised to take the PCR test to detect the virus and variants of concern.

And anyone who tests positive is still legally required to self-isolate, irrespective of their vaccination status.

Alongside PCR testing you are encouraged to take up the Government’s offer of free, twice-weekly rapid testing.

Everyone in Ribble Valley can access the tests from the lateral flow testing centre in Clitheroe.

Rapid testing detects cases quickly, meaning those who test positive can isolate immediately.

Taking a test is quick, easy and free – the tests are painless and you get the result within half an hour.

Clitheroe’s lateral flow testing centre is based at the Council Offices car park in Church Walk. It is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.

As well as getting tested onsite, you can also collect up to two boxes containing seven testing kits each for use in the home or workplace.
