18.5 Hours Per Week - Wednesday Afternoon, Thursday and Friday - all day
The Council is looking to appoint a part time Housing Needs Officer (HNO). The primary role is to advise and assist households at risk of homelessness. The Council offers a range of initiatives to prevent homelessness and the HNO's role will be to deliver these schemes. The post involves making home visits, inspecting properties and interviewing households. The service operates a daily appointment system for households to attend for advice and assistance, which often involves follow up investigation by the HNO.
The role involves partnership working with housing providers and care/support providers.
Excellent communication skills and a clear understanding of homelessness legislation are essential.
