30 Hours Per Week – Monday to Friday - either 9am to 3.30pm or 1pm to 7.30pm – with a 30 minute meal break – some weekend working will be required

1 year apprenticeship
You will be involved in a range of duties at Ribblesdale Pool in Clitheroe. You will be part of a team supporting delivery of one to one and group swimming lessons in a busy leisure facility
You will be required to successfully complete a National Pool Lifeguard qualification (NPLQ) on commencement of the apprenticeship as this is an essential requirement of the post. It is also necessary to have this qualification to be able to contribute towards the delivery of swimming lessons in the main and teaching pools.
During your time with us you will work towards an NVQ level 2 in swimming instruction.
To apply you must be a competent swimmer with an interest in sport and physical activity, and seeking to develop skills in the teaching of aquatics activities. At the end of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to move into a full time permanent position as a swimming teacher, depending upon your performance and the Council’s position at the time.
