Salary:  £19,554 to £21,166 per annum - Scale 4 (scp 7–11)

Working out of the Council’s Depot on Lincoln Way, Clitheroe, you will be responsible for driving and loading any of the Council’s refuse collection vehicles. A full LGV category C licence is required. You will be responsible for the supervision of the team members on the collection round.

The job involves the collection of paper and cardboard materials, together with other waste and recyclable materials, as part of the Council’s 3-stream waste collection system that utilises both the wheeled bin and sack collection systems.  As well as the driving aspects, you should be physically capable of undertaking repeated and frequent entries and exits of the cab of refuse collection and other vehicles, and the manoeuvring of loaded wheeled bins, as well as some carrying and lifting of materials and paper sacks.

You will assist in all aspects of the refuse collection service.  Some Bank Holiday working as well as weekend working around Christmas and New Year will be required.

You should be a team player, flexible and reliable, with a willingness to undertake any tasks which will contribute to the efficiency of the refuse collection and paper/waste recycling service.
