Work Pattern – 2.5 days per week – Monday and Tuesday all
day, Wednesday morning
This is an opportunity to join the Council’s Dog Warden Service within the Environmental Health Section. You will encourage and educate people to meet their responsibilities as dog owners, ensuring high standards of legal compliance, through an enforcement presence where necessary.
The work will include catching and transporting stray dogs, as well as investigating dog related complaints including straying, nuisance, fouling and dog on dog attacks. You need to be aware that a significant part of the role involves emptying dog waste bins across the borough.
You will be able to demonstrate a passion for working with dogs, as well as possessing excellent communication skills, and have a willingness to learn and develop new skills. You will also demonstrate maturity and be adaptable to work in a small team. You must be able to work on your own using your initiative to resolve problems and issues as they arise. You will need to be flexible in your approach to work.
