Two Top Roles for Ribble Valley Borough Council LeaderPublished Tuesday, 18 June 2019
The leader of Ribble Valley Borough Council has landed roles at Lancashire’s two ‘top tables’.
Stephen Atkinson has been appointed vice-chairman of the Lancashire District Council Leaders’ Group and joined the board of the Lancashire Economic Partnership.
The Lancashire District Council Leaders Group meets monthly to work on joint-projects and share common problems.
The Lancashire Economic Partnership comprises leaders from business, universities and local councils, who work together to drive economic growth and job creation in the county.
Councillor Atkinson, who represents Brockhall and Dinckley, said: “The council has a strong track record in rural regeneration and established the borough as a premier destination for food and drink, as well as relocations and start-ups.
“Ribble Valley is a vibrant borough and these new roles will ensure we continue punching above our weight, by giving us a seat at the county’s top tables.”
Stephen Atkinson has a business background in manufacturing and property, and joined Ribble Valley Borough Council in 2015, becoming leader in January, 2019.
