First Steps for Bolton-By-Bowland and Gisburn Forest Neighbourhood Plan

Published Monday, 24 February 2014

Residents in Bolton-by-Bowland and Gisburn Forest are invited to get involved in compiling a neighbourhood plan for their community.

The Government has given communities powers to draw up neighbourhood plans influencing the future of where they live or work.

Parish and town councils take the lead on drawing up the plans, supported by planning authorities, which are usually borough councils.

Bolton-by-Bowland, Gisburn Forest and Sawley Parish Council wants the two wards of Bolton-by-Bowland and Gisburn Forest designating a "neighbourhood area." The ward of Sawley is not included in the proposal.

Leaflets have been delivered to households in the three wards and open meetings held at Bolton-by-Bowland, Tosside and Sawley Parish Halls.
