New Rural Think Tank for Ribble ValleyPublished Thursday, 06 March 2014
Community groups and individuals in Ribble Valley are invited to a new rural think tank.
The forum, organised by Ribble Valley Borough Council and the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Council for Voluntary Service, will consider a range of issues facing rural communities and groups, particularly how to fund projects. It will include speakers from funding bodies and representatives of inspirational local projects.
The council's partnership officer, Dilys Day, said: "The forum aims to provide an opportunity to discuss issues specific to rural communities, with a focus on the voluntary, community and faith sectors.
"It is also an opportunity to network and meet people who may be able to assist with project development, as well as share information and knowledge."
It is hoped that the forum will become a bi-annual event and act as a bridge between community groups and statutory bodies.
The forum will take place from 9.30am to 1.00pm and attendance is free, although booking is essential, as places are limited. Further details and bookings are available from Dilys Day on 01200 414549.
