Affordable Homes up for grabs in ClitheroePublished Monday, 28 April 2014
Twenty-nine new affordable properties are up for grabs at a prestigious development in Clitheroe.
The properties have been developed by Taylor Wimpey in association with Ribble Valley Borough Council and Adactus Housing Association.
Adactus Housing is holding a registration event at the Ribble Valley Homes offices in Station Road, Clitheroe, from noon to 2.00pm on Tuesday 6 May.
Allocations and lettings staff from Adactus Housing will be at hand with information about the properties and to assist interested people with the application process.
Colin Hirst, head of housing and regeneration at Ribble Valley Borough Council, said: “The provision of affordable housing is one of the biggest challenges facing the council and we are working closely with housing associations to address this problem.
“We are delighted to have supported this excellent scheme, which will bring much-needed high-quality affordable and shared ownership accommodation to Clitheroe.”
House prices in Ribble Valley are way above the national average and first-time buyers are being forced out of the communities their families have lived in for generations.
There is also a dearth of accommodation suitable for young single people and the elderly.
Ribble Valley Borough Council is at the forefront of several housing initiatives, from the provision of affordable properties in partnership with housing associations and developers to cutting-edge energy efficiency.
