Gallery Goodies Up For Grabs by Crafty Kids

Published Friday, 22 August 2014

Ribble Valley youngsters are invited to get crafty and win a goody bag of art materials by designing a room in a shoe box.

The Platform Gallery in Station Road, Clitheroe, is hosting Sanctuary, an exhibition featuring original and unique pieces for the home by top craftmakers from across the UK until 4 October.

Now youngsters are invited to get in on the act by designing a room in a shoe box by Saturday (23 August).

All entries will be exhibited as part of Sanctuary and the best will receive a goody bag of art supplies.

The gallery will also host East Lancashire pop-up café Maison The on 23 August, which will be in residence throughout the day serving its trademark vintage afternoon teas.

The Platform Gallery and Clitheroe Visitor Information Centre is a one-stop shop for visitors and art and craft enthusiasts, with the latest information on events and accommodation, a shop selling maps, souvenirs and craftwork by local and national artists, and a gallery exhibiting the best contemporary art, and hosting workshops throughout the year.

All purchases between £100 and £2,000 can be purchased through Own Art, an interest-free purchasing scheme. The gallery is open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm and on Saturdays 10.00am to 4.30pm.

To enter the competition, deliver your shoe box with your name and address written underneath to the gallery by 10.00am on Saturday.

Further details are available from the gallery on 01200 425566.
