Rural Forum Showcases Community FacilitiesPublished Tuesday, 26 August 2014
Community facilities come under the spotlight at the next meeting of the Ribble Valley Rural Forum.
It will also include a mini-workshop on how to complete successful funding applications, as well as a presentation by Cathy Hopley on the Forest of Bowland AONB, how it can support community groups and potential funding.
The Ribble Valley Rural Forum showcases issues affecting rural communities, with a focus on the voluntary, community and faith sectors. It also provides an interface between the communities and the statutory bodies that serve them.
Over 50 people attended the first forum in April, which will become a bi-annual event.
Ribble Valley Borough Council partnership officer Dilys Day said: “The forum provides an opportunity to discuss issues specific to rural communities, with a focus on the voluntary, community and faith sectors.
“It is also an opportunity to network and meet people who may be able to assist with project development, as well as share information and knowledge.
“The forum is proving a great success and will become a bi-annual event, acting as a bridge between community groups and statutory bodies.”
The forum will meet at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Chamber in Church Street, Clitheroe, and attendance is free, but booking is required. Further details are available from Dilys Day or David Ingham on 01200 414549.
