Community Funding Showcased at Rural Forum

Published Tuesday, 30 September 2014

Community funding came under the spotlight at a meeting of the Ribble Valley Rural Forum.

About 40 people attended the event, which featured a presentation by Zoe Goddard of national community network Locality and Cathy Hopley of the Forest of Bowland AONB on help, support and funding for rural community projects.

The Ribble Valley Rural Forum is held twice a year and showcases issues affecting rural communities, with a focus on the voluntary, community and faith sectors. It also provides an interface between the communities and the statutory bodies that serve them.

Ribble Valley Borough Council partnership officer Dilys Day said: “The forum provides an opportunity to discuss issues specific to rural communities, with a focus on the voluntary, community and faith sectors.

“It is also an opportunity to network and meet people who may be able to assist with project development, as well as share information and knowledge.”

The forum meets at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Chamber in Church Street, Clitheroe, and attendance is free, but booking is required. Further details are available from Dilys Day or David Ingham on 01200 414549.
