Free Festive Parking to Boost BusinessPublished Tuesday, 18 November 2014
Parking charges are to be waived at council-operated car parks in Clitheroe and Longridge town centres on three Saturdays in December in a bid to boost festive business.
Ribble Valley Borough Council leader Stuart Hirst said the council was delighted to do its bit to boost trade during the festive season.
He said: “The council has been offering free festive parking at its car parks for some years now and the initiative has proved a great success.
“A lot of hard work goes into making Christmas in Ribble Valley special and we hope shoppers from throughout Lancashire will take advantage of the free parking to visit the borough and see what its unique, independent shops have to offer.”
Charges will be waived at council-operated car parks in Clitheroe and Longridge town centres, but normal charges will apply to the Edisford Road Car Park in Clitheroe and village car parks. The free parking is available for up to four hours per vehicle.
Retailers and workers are reminded that the free parking is for the benefit of customers and visitors.
