Clitheroe Market Redevelopment Shortlist Drawn UpPublished Tuesday, 20 January 2015
A shortlist of developers interested in redeveloping the Clitheroe Market site has been drawn up.
Research into the viability of the proposed redevelopment was presented to Ribble Valley Borough Council, which owns the site, last year.
The selection of a development partner in line with the council’s procurement procedures has started and a shortlist of potential developers drawn up.
Colin Hirst, Ribble Valley Borough Council’s head of regeneration and housing, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to bring modern retail and leisure facilities to Clitheroe town centre, and the proposed scheme has generated strong interest from developers across the country.
“We anticipate practical and imaginative proposals to bring forward significant new retail space to attract new quality operators to Clitheroe town centre.”
Negotiations with the shortlisted developers will now open, with detailed proposals for the site expected to be in place by late spring and the final plan unveiled in the autumn.
