Tour of Britain Activity Pack up for Grabs

Published Friday, 14 August 2015

A Tour of Britain activity pack is up for grabs by Ribble Valley youngsters aged seven to 11.

The colourful 12-page pack features information and activities about the Tour, the different jerseys, road safety advice and a spot-the-difference competition.

Over 1,000 packs were delivered to schools throughout Ribble Valley over the summer term, but a few are available free-of-charge to youngsters who may have missed out.

The world’s top cyclists and tens of thousands of spectators look set to descend on Ribble Valley and Pendle on Monday, 7 September, for the race, which will see 20 of the world’s top cycling teams, including Olympic and world champions, and Tour de France stage winners, power through the two boroughs on a tough 162km route from Clitheroe to Colne.

Ribble Valley Borough Council leader Stuart Hirst said: “The Tour of Britain is the most significant event in Ribble Valley’s 40-year history and we are delighted to have produced this activity pack for local youngsters.

“Feedback about the pack from schools has been very positive, so we are delighted to make it available to youngsters who may have missed out.”

The pack is available in person from the main reception at the Ribble Valley Borough Council Offices in Church Walk, Clitheroe, on a first-come-first-served basis.
