A drop-in session has been arranged to help residents affected by the December floods claim up to £5,000 to flood-proof their properties.
The session will take place at the Mytton Fold Hotel, Langho, on Tuesday, 14 June, from 4 to 7pm.
Appointments of up to 15 minutes can be booked to discuss the Property Flood Resilience Grant Scheme and complete the application form.
Under the scheme, households and businesses affected by Storms Desmond and Eva can apply for funds to make their properties more resistant and resilient to flooding.
The grants are intended to help them put measures in place to improve the property’s resistance and resilience to flooding over and above repairs covered by insurance.
Measures could include the installation of airbrick covers, sewerage bungs, toilet pan seals, non-return valves, water-resistant mortar, door guards, flood doors, raised ovens, waist-height power sockets and wall-mounted boilers, as well as the waterproofing of external walls.
The drop-in session is part of a Flood Resilience Expo that will feature a range of information and advice on flood protection from several organisations, including the Environment Agency, Lancashire County Council and Whalley and Billington Flood Action Group.
To book a slot for the drop-in session call Ribble Valley Borough Council on 01200 425111.
