‘Northern Star’ Ella to Open Clitheroe’s Christmas MarketPublished Wednesday, 16 November 2016
Langho songstress Ella Shaw, who wowed music mogul Simon Cowell during last year’s Britain's Got Talent, is to open Northern Star, Clitheroe Market’s festive extravaganza.
Some of the finest artisan food and craft makers in the North West are taking part in the event at Clitheroe Market on four consecutive Saturdays from 26 November and the Platform Gallery from 22 October to 7 January.
Over 50 artists and makers from across the UK, including jewellery, ceramics and textiles, will take part, while Clitheroe Market will also host a dedicated Christmas lights switch-on on 26 November, as well as a host of festive fun, including performances by local choirs, roast chestnuts and a visit by Father Christmas.
Heather Coar, Ribble Valley Borough Council’s head of environmental health, said: “We are going all-out to ensure Clitheroe is the place to be for festive shoppers this Christmas.
“We are inviting them to forget the hustle and bustle of the city, and come to Clitheroe for a unique shopping experience among some of the best craft makers and award-winning independent shops in the North West.
“And what better way to celebrate Northern Star than with our own ‘Northern Star’ Ella Shaw.”
Ella Shaw was described by Simon Cowell as “mega-talented” during last year’s Britain’s Got Talent, in which she reached the final. She released her self-penned debut album, Imperfections, in September.
