Get Fresh at Clitheroe’s Monthly Arts and Crafts EventsPublished Tuesday, 20 June 2017
Arts and crafts enthusiasts are invited to a unique monthly event at Clitheroe’s Platform Gallery.
The award-winning gallery in Station Road is hosting a series of artists’ weekends, called Fresh, when arts enthusiasts can meet some of the North West’s most accomplished craftspeople and buy pieces directly from them.
The first weekend of every month from July will showcase the work of four artists from 11am to 3pm.
The first event, on 1 and 2 July, will showcase the white porcelain of Solo Ceramics from Thornton, the textiles of Teena Lucas from Hatton, whose hand-felted wool scenes are inspired by the countryside; wands and staffs created from found timber by William Wands from Longridge and the sculptural wirework jewellery combining beads, buttons and fused glass of Jewelart from Catforth.
Other Fresh events will take place every month throughout the year featuring a host of top artists and craftspeople.
Stuart Carefoot, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s community services committee, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to meet some of the North West’s most talented and accomplished artists and craftspeople.
“Arts and crafts enthusiasts are invited to join us for an unforgettable experience in a borough famed for independent shops and first-class arts, crafts and culture.”
Artists and craftspeople interested in booking a stall are asked to contact the Platform Gallery on 01200 425566.
