Art Enthusiasts Invited to Paint the Town Red in Twilight WalkPublished Monday, 13 November 2017
Art enthusiasts are invited to paint the town red in a festive twilight ‘artwalk’ in Clitheroe.
The walk will tour the town’s eight galleries on Friday, 17 November, from 6 to 10pm.
Clitheroe’s first artwalk in September attracted over 200 participants on a Saturday afternoon.
Stuart Carefoot, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s community services committee, said: “Clitheroe’s eight galleries are home to a dazzling array of photography, prints, crafts and paintings, much of which is available to purchase and all of which is free to admire.
“The artwalk is a fabulous way to get out and about, meet other art enthusiasts and see what Clitheroe’s galleries have to offer, particularly if you are looking for a unique festive gift.”
Artwalk participants can view the work of local and national artists, some of who will be present on the night, enjoy a 10 per cent discount at the Platform Gallery and the Keep, free cocktails and cake at the Keep, live entertainment at the Ribble Valley Art Studios and a display of paintings depicting Clitheroe at Christmas at Imagine.
The artwalk galleries are Knowle Top Studios, Longitude Gallery, Platform Gallery, Ribble Valley Art Studios, the Keep, the Old Bakehouse Gallery, Imagine and the Steward’s Gallery.
